The Monster Pit and The Regular GA
We’ve been getting quite a few questions about The Monster Pit and a lot of you seem to be confused. I’m going to try and answer a few of the most asked tour-related questions instead of answering everyone individually.
Can you buy a ticket to get into The Monster Pit?
According to Gaga’s tweets, no. In order to get into The Monster Pit, you must buy a normal general admissions ticket (costing upwards of $200), show up early to the venue, and dress up in your best costume. Gaga tweeted something along the lines that members of the Haus will choose who gets into The Monster Pit, but we have a feeling it will be first come, first serve, because handpicking people would most likely cause some kind of Monster riot. The Haus will be more involved in choosing who goes to the meet and greet.
What if I don’t get into The Monster Pit, where will I go?
There are two general admissions areas: The Monster Pit and a regular general admissions area like at The Monster Ball, and although there are two areas, they all require the same ticket. If you do not make it into The Monster Pit, you will simply stand in the general admissions area outside of the pit. Refer to the picture below if you are confused.
How will I see Gaga if I’m not in the Monster Pit? It looks as if The Monster Pit will obstruct my view.
You will definitely still be able to see Gaga. If you’re in The Monster Pit, it will be the same as if you were standing at the end or along the sides of the catwalk at The Monster Ball. The only difference is the catwalk is circular instead of one that protrudes straight out. And trust us when we say that those who weren’t right against the catwalk were still able to see.
How can I guarantee my spot in The Monster Pit?
Not all of the details are clear, but from what we know, you will have to arrive as early as possible in order to make it into The Monster Pit. If you can, your best bet will be to gather up some of your friends and camp out near the venue. Monsters are quite dedicated, so you have to try your best to get there before everyone else. We should note that if you are attending the show in an unsafe area, think wisely about whether or not you should be camping out. Everyone is talking about how they are going to camp out, but when push comes to shove, most people will show up the morning of at the very earliest. Once a few of these Asian and Australian dates happen, you guys can start to get a better feeling of what is truly necessary to get into the pit. I think you’ll find it’s not quite the ridiculous effort you think it is going to be. Alternatively, you can purchase the Government Hooker Package that grants you early access the the general admissions area. If you cannot afford a Government Hooker Package, fear not. The Little Monster Package sold during the Monster Ball let a select number of people in early, and they didn’t even fill up half the ‘front row’. There is no reason The Born This Way Ball will be different.
Do I have to dress up? Dressing up is expensive and will exclude fans, and that goes against Gaga’s message!
Better question: Why wouldn’t you dress up? This is a Lady Gaga concert we’re talking about. It’s all about dressing up, going crazy, and having the time of your life. It really isn’t that expensive to come up with a costume if you are wise about it. It’s just another way to be creative.
This is a dumb idea. A lot of people will fight to get into The Monster Pit.
No one fought to get front row at The Monster Ball… If people are ignorant and immature and try to start a fight, they will be kicked out and lose their money.
Why are the prices so expensive?
Bigger stage, bigger production, and bigger popstar? Gaga does not set the ticket prices. The prices are determined by how much the show costs to put on. Your money goes to paying everyone involved in making the show happen: Gaga, her dancers, backup singers, band members, stage crew, security, venue owners, etc.
Gaga mentioned Haus members choosing people to go backstage. How do I get chosen?
Create an outfit that is unique and eye catching. Don’t expect to be chosen if you show up in a t-shirt and jeans. Gaga wants to meet her most dedicated and passionate fans, so show her how much you love her with a crazy outfit you actually spent some time on creating. It’s a far better way to do meet and greets than making a couple fans spend an inordinate amount of money. Everyone has an equal chance!
